1/2 kg meat, minced.

1 tablespoon grated lemon.

1 tablespoon dill, chopped.

Salt and pepper.

2 tablespoons olive oil.

1 onion, chopped.

1 teaspoon garlic, chopped.

1/2 cup yellow lentils(soaked).

1/2 cup rice.

2 cups broth.

1 tablespoon mint, chopped.

1 tablespoon coriander.

1 tablespoon spinach.

1/2 teaspoon saffron.

1/2 cup yogurt.

2 tablespoons flour.

1 tablespoon lemon juice.


Combine minced meat with grated lemon and dill. Season with salt and pepper. Roll the meat to make meat balls.

Arrange meat balls over the baking dish and bake in a preheated oven  ( 180 degrees C) for 15  minutes or until meat is cooked well.

Heat oil in a pot over medium heat; add onion and garlic with stirring, then add lentils and rice after draining them.

Add broth to the soup and heat until boil. when it starts to boil reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add meat balls and herbs and boil the soup.

Melt saffron in 1 tablespoon of hot water and pour it over the yogurt and flour; combine them well then add this mixture to the soup. Heat soup until boil with stirring. Serve hot with lemon juice.
